Tlastsini Endowment Fund

In addition to annual and multi-year grants from various conservation foundation supporters, TAC accesses annual grant funding from the Tlatsini Endowment Fund at Tides Canada, which was established in July 2011. The purpose of the Tlatsini Endowment Fund is to “support the Taku River Tlingit First Nation in implementing the Atlin Taku Land Use Plan, associated shared decision-making arrangements and related land stewardship activities.” The Tlatsini fund received substantial endowment contributions from four partner foundations (The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Wilburforce Foundation, Swift Foundation and Campion Foundation) and from the Taku River Tlingit First Nation.

Disbursements from the Tlatsini Endowment Fund are made annually at the recommendation of a 5-member Tlatsini Conservation Endowment Fund Advisory Committee which consists of two TAC representatives, two conservation funder representatives and the TAC President, who serves as the Advisory Committee chair.
